Salary: £22,308 annual, £11.44 per hour
Responsible to: Home manager
Main purpose of role:
To be a part of a team offering a comprehensive residential service to children and young people, the aim being to ensure the physical, social, and emotional care and development of the young residents and the establishment.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- To act as a key worker and positive role model to specific children and young people, promoting structure, boundaries, and domestic routines.
- To work in accordance with the National Minimum Care Standards for Children’s homes and understand the young people’s care and placement plans.
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in areas of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing participating in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.
- Assess and promote children’s development utilising the resources of the community.
- Complete reports on ClearCare for statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people and maintain administrative records as required by the home.
- Become competent on the necessary areas of the ClearCare systems
- Be responsible when handling designated amounts of petty cash, receipting monies as appropriate and conducting such transactions in accordance with financial regulations.
- Attend and participate in supervisions, staff meetings and training as required in the National Minimum Care Standards.
- Familiarise with the TriX system and company care policies and procedures.
- Ensure training achievements are in date in line with the Training Matrix.
- Work in partnership and develop relationships with colleagues and other professionals to meet the social, emotional, educational, health and mental health needs of young people.
- Maintain awareness and responsibility for the health and safety of the home, young people, colleagues, and yourself.
- Sleeping in / shift work, including evenings and weekends on a rota system.
- To co-operate and assist with any inspection process.
