Starting Salary: £24,980 annual, £12.81ph

Main purpose of role:
To effectively and efficiently deliver the main responsibilities and key result areas encompassed within a Team Leader role. To meet the below requirements within a residential or solo setting catering for young people.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for the effective and efficient running of shifts.
- Oversee, supervise, and act as a role model for staff in their daily working practice.
- Understand the care and placement plans of the young people.
- Ensure ongoing assessment young people’s needs in day-to-day practice.
- Monitor and maintain administrative requirements on ClearCare, ensuring that the outcome meets the standards set out in children’s legislation, and the homes working practices.
- Promote and actively encourage the delivery of a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
- Promote positive outcomes for children and young people in areas of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution, and achieving economic wellbeing participating in leisure activities in line with the care and placement plans of the young people.
- Relate to and engage young people who display challenging behaviour and ensure a variety of intervention strategies are utilised in relation to behaviour management.
- At all times ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of the children and young people.
- Ensure staff members are aware of and deliver the support required to ensure the life chance opportunities of children and young people are met in relation to their social, educational, leisure, emotional, physical, and cultural needs.
- Ensure the delivery of all key worker areas and responsibilities.
- Become competent on the necessary areas of the ClearCare systems
- Be responsible when handling designated amounts of petty cash, receipting monies as appropriate and conducting such transactions in accordance with financial regulations.
- Undertake all relevant training as and when required, keeping achievements in date.
- Ensure an open culture is created so that children and young people feel they can complain and that they are listened to.
- Ensure that all administrative requirements of the home are maintained in such a way that they are compliant with good childcare practices, homes procedures, company policies and children’s regulations.
- Attend and participate in supervisions, staff meetings and training as required in the National Minimum Care Standards.
- Familiarise with the TriX system and company care policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership and develop relationships with colleagues and other professionals to meet the social, emotional, educational, health and mental health needs of young people.
- Be responsible when handling designated amounts of petty cash, receipting monies as appropriate and conducting such transactions in accordance with financial regulations.
- Update Risk assessments and Reports as and when necessary.
- Sleeping in / shift work, including evenings and weekends on a rota system.
